The Robinhood Stars have produced a ruthless performance to blow away the Avis Magic 66-47 and earn a first win of the ANZ Premiership season.
The Stars bolted out the gates, applying pressure on the Magic from the outset and reaping rewards.
The Stars were able to force multiple turnovers in quick succession and make them count - going on a five goal run and opening up a handy advantage to lead 15-10 at quarter-time.
The Stars maintained their dominance for the remainder of the contest, out-muscling the Magic and winning the second quarter 19-10, which saw them take a 34-20 lead into the changing rooms at half-time.
With smiles on their faces, the Stars added further flair into their performance in the second half, before running away with a 19 point triumph.
Wing attack Gina Crampton was intent on stamping her mark on the game early and did so while oozing class as she connected with shooters Maia Wilson and Amorangi Malesala with precision passes that helped build the lead.
Crampton was involved in everything and finished the game with 55 circle feeds and a whopping 37 goal assists.
The defensive end were rock-solid and constantly frustrated the Magic throughout the contest, combining to take eight intercepts and force 23 turnovers.
The highlight of defensive display came midway through the match, where the Magic were held goalless for over three minutes.
Maia Wilson was again dominant in the shooting circle - netting 44 of her 48 shots at goal and over 90 percent for the second straight week.
